During the pandemic we obtained funding which supported us to implement a Travel support project and introduce digital, safe, contactless methods of support i.e. digital bus passes.
The funding for our travel project was received through the Smarter Choices, Smarter Places Fund. Through this funding the aim was to provide sustainable transport for people seeking international protection, who, were ARE-appeal rights exhausted and were living in the greater Glasgow area.
The project has primarily utilised the First Bus App to distribute bus passes to organisations and individuals as this has allowed wider flexibility and mobility across the city. We work closely with partner organisations to assist in the distribution of digital bus passes to individuals seeking asylum.
We are continuing with these methods, as they have been welcomed by clients and partners. These methods mean that we can more efficiently and effectively support people.
