We are proud to share that we have supported 615 individuals with travel passes in Glasgow from July-October this year across our projects and alongside our partners!
Travel is expensive and the Home Office allowance of under £50 per week is not enough to pay for this. For destitute and homeless people who are refugees and/or seeking asylum everyday living is extremely difficult.
Our Winter Travel Appeal focuses on raising funds to continue to support the travel needs of refugees and asylum seekers in Glasgow.
These travel passes aren’t just for buses – they are passes to meet basic needs, safety and companionship who are separated from family, need to attend appointments, to travel early in the morning or late at night; they are passes to comfort for those who face long journeys through Scotland’s notorious winter weather; and they are passes to integration into the Scottish community, all things that we wish for every human being.
