As the month of May is Mental Health Awareness month it is the perfect opportunity to share the growth of our Mental Health and Wellbeing project.
Since our dedicated Community, Mental Health and Wellbeing Coordinator joined the team in November last year they have expanded our activities to include day trips (including Mackintosh Tea Rooms, Sea Life Aquarium, The Mitchell Library and guided bus tours across Glasgow), guided walks, yoga, hikes, meditation and there’s more to come! We additionally continue to provide gym passes and swimming lessons.
The activities we provide have been proved to improve mental health and wellbeing by providing a safe space to have a break from everyday stresses, the opportunity to connect with others and make friends, to build a routine, to try something new and so much more.
Our Mental Health and Wellbeing project has been continuously developed by working directly with our service users to use their feedback to shape our programme of activities. This has also included peer-led research which we will be sharing more information about with you very soon.
