Here is the illustrated poster by @julesscheele representing our mental health and wellbeing research project with merl!

Through interviews, written reflections and conversations during workshops and meetings the peer-researchers reflected on various aspects of the project including their motivations for getting involved, what they learned and what they achieved from the experience.

Here are some of the reflections,

‘I am glad for the opportunity to be a part of this important work and hope that our findings will help to create a more helpful and compassionate system for asylum seekers in Glasgow.’

‘I also learnt about mental health, as it is a very important topic.’

‘I’ve overcome barriers to the point of participating in a girls’ focus group and conducting interviews. I never thought I would be able to do it, but this project has helped me gain more self-confidence.’

‘It has been very beneficial for me personally, where I have been able to express myself freely…I have enjoyed all this time where I was able to share with my colleagues and talk about topics openly. I think it has been very beneficial for everyone…I want to say that I really enjoy this project. I am grateful for having been considered to participate.’

More of the reflections can be found in the full report, coming soon!
