Milestones & Meals
We recently held our Refugee Festival Scotland event at Kinning Park Complex, a celebration of the work created during a series of cooking and writing workshops. Asylum-seeking and refugee participants explored this year’s festival theme, ‘Milestones’ through food and storytelling. Guests shared a community meal, browsed an exhibition featuring photography, illustration and writing, and took home a cookbook filled with recipes from the workshops. The event brought people together to share culture, creativity and conversation to recognise the journeys of those who have found safety and a new home in Scotland.
The event was delivered in partnership with Refugee Festival Scotland, Kinning Park Complex, Glasgow Community Food Network and That’s Yer Dinner – thank you so much for partnering with us! Additional thanks to Pastéis Lisboa and Tantrum Doughnuts for generously providing delicious pastel de nata and doughnuts.
